about

Despite a storied catalogue of over 27 releases that, at first, helped foster early North American Bass Music and then helped pioneer a unique variety of modern genres, 2014 has seen Miami’s Loveless Records sitting on the low, quietly plotting, planning & scheming a new era for the label.

With a refocused vision, Loveless is setting in motion its future plans for world domination (and , of course, a return to vinyl) in grand fashion with an incredible, new EP from Russian-born, London-based wunderkind Lokiboi.

Featuring 4 originals as well as remixes from ClekClekBoom affiliate Manaré and Russian House maestro Mujuice, Daily Grind EP is an exercise in top-shelf, soul-quenching House that effortlessly blends the genre’s golden days with its contemptuous modern spirit.

Providing a comforting welcome, the title track brings the tried-and-true elements of seductive House composition together in a beautifully simple yet melodically masterful execution. Forward Groove carries the torch forward, bouncing above a hovering bass with pitched down old-school Soul vocals in classic House fashion.

Think Again offers the most variety, lined with classic drum breaks and respectful nods to early Acid House and Cajmere’s 1992 House classic It's Time For the Percolator. Rounding out the originals in class, Let Me See That is a hypnotic, minimal Garage House workout with a dark lean. Manaré then strips it into a percussive abstraction by while Mujuice turns it into a bouncy Deep House jam with a touch of funk.

Rounding out the year for Loveless will be the second edition of their annual free compilation Multiverse with EPs early in 2015 from Sibian & Faun, No Fear & Deech and more.
